Eid Mubarak!

WASHINGTON (IslamOnline) – The hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world celebrated Eid Al-Adha, the second of two major Muslim holidays (along with Eid al-Fitr that follows Ramadan).

Meaning the Holiday of Sacrifice, it marks the day in the pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia when hundreds of thousands of pilgrims will sacrifice a sheep, a calf, a bull or a camel for the sake of God, following the example set by the Prophet Abraham and narrated in the Holy Qur’an.

The meat from the sacrifices is distributed throughout the Muslim world to the needy and underprivileged.

The staff of Islam Online wishes the Muslim world a most blessed Eid.
