The hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world celebrated Eid Al-Adha, the second of two major Muslim holidays (along with Eid al-Fitr that follows Ramadan).
American fast food restaurants are
cashing in on Hajj season in different Saudi cities, especially Mecca and
Medina. Long lines of pilgrims can be seen, wearing their ihram, outside
McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Baskin Robbins to get a quick bite
or cool down with some ice cream in between rites.
Arabian authorities inaugurated the
world’s largest slaughterhouse on Saturday, March 11, big enough to
accommodate the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of animals for the
Hajj.
