A 'Global Ethos' To Save The World?
The original idea of a global ethos comes from a group of German Catholic theologians who initiated a foundation called "Global Ethos". Recently, the department of religion at the University of Humboldt in Berlin, Germany, gave the idea more momentum after its two-day long seminar. The idea of global ethos is based on the inter-religious dialogue between representatives of all religions. Religious ethos and not humanism is to be the basis of such dialogue. Islam and Christianity being the largest of all the other religions, thus share the burden of cooperation, in order to provide a moral solution to the unbalanced and harmful reality of global materialism.
