Science in Arab Development

28/10/2003

The United Nations Development Programme has issued this year’s Arab Human Development Report.  SciDev.net comments on two very important aspects of this report: the arabicisation of science and the relevance of faith with regards to scientific development in the Muslim world…

A new report says that a lack of evolution in the Arabic language is acting as a barrier to science communication in the Arab world.

Coming to terms with modern science and technology is a major cultural challenge for all Muslim societies. A new report underlines the extent of the challenge — and the steps required to meet it.
