SLEPTSOVOSC,
Chechnya, October 26 (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - Russian
military tanks have closed Saturday, October 26, the outlets of a
number of Chechen refugee camps in Ingushetia. The Russian Interior
Ministry has, meanwhile, declared it would apply some changes to its
military operations in Chechnya.
The
military has taken such measures hours after ending the hostages'
crisis in Moscow that resulted in the death of 90 hostages and 50
Chechen captives.
A
group of Russian soldiers, accompanied by masked members of Russian
security agencies, have dug ditches around Chechen refugee camps in
Federal Russia's Ingushetia Republic and refused to provide an
explanation for what they did, pointing out that they had been ordered
to perform such an operation, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Russian
tanks have cordoned off the villages of Bella, Allina, Satsita in
Chechen-bordering Sleptsovosc.
Russian
deputy interior minister Vladimir Vasiliev has told the Russian
"Ria Novosti" news agency Saturday that Russia would apply
some modifications to its military operations in Chechnya.
Vasiliev
said, "Some modifications are to be applied to the work of
federal forces in the separatist Chechen Republic. Tasks of police
elements are to be organized," pointing out that this has nothing
to do with launching new armed operations on a large scale.
Meanwhile,
three Chechen fighters were killed in a Russian large-scale special
operation, near Novogrozninski town, east of Grozny.
Russian
federal forces leadership in Chechnya issued a statement declaring,
"special forces’ units are currently combing all parts of the
republic, as the information collected by their agencies revealed that
groups of fighters are still there".
Russian
forces have found weapons, explosives and drugs as well as documents
and foodstuffs provided by a Danish humanitarian organization, Russian
Itar-Itas news agency reported.
