JENIN,
July 21 (IslamOnline & News agencies) - Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade,
the armed group linked to Palestinian resistance movement Fatah, on
Sunday, July 21, threatened to attack relatives of Israeli officials
if Israel expels the relatives of Palestinian resistance bombers to
the Gaza Strip.
"We
warn the Israeli government against deporting martyrs' families, and
if they do so, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades will retaliate by striking
the families of Israeli officials," the group said in a statement
received by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
The
group’s statement was released following the Israeli forces
destruction on Friday, July 19, of two houses owned by relatives of
two Palestinian bombers and the abduction of 21 of them who will be
deported to Gaza strip.
The
group also called on all Arab governments to break contacts with the
Israelis, saying, "some Arab states are trying to sabotage the
resistance."
It
did not name the states, although Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia are
in contact with the U.S. administration.
Israel's
plan to expel the families has run into international condemnation,
with its key ally Washington saying the transfers would not guarantee
Israel's security.
The
Palestinian Authority has said the move would amount to a "war
crime."
UN
Secretary General Kofi Annan added his voice to the chorus of
condemnations, saying through a spokesman he was "disturbed"
by reports of the intended move and the destruction of Palestinian
homes.
Arab
League chief Amr Mussa said the Israeli plan was an "aggression
that has no place in international law"
The
expulsion plan has been met by opposition from the United States, the
European Union, France and human rights groups.
Islamic
resistance groups, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, have threatened a bloody
response if Israel goes ahead with the move, but the Al-Aqsa statement
was the first specific warning to the families of officials.
The
armed-wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine
(DFLP) has also threatened Saturday, July 20, to retaliate against
Israel if it expelled relatives of Palestinian militants who carry out
attacks to the Gaza Strip.
"The
brigades of Palestinian national resistance and other movements will
retaliate against the occupiers and settlers and will not let pass
without punishment the policies of house demolitions and
expulsions," a statement from the radical left-wing group said.
"The
enemy's policies make a farce of human rights, international
resolutions and the Geneva Convention, leaving the Palestinian people
the sole option of Intifada and resistance," it added.
The
DFLP called on the United Nations to send in an international force to
protect the Palestinians "and not CIA experts to lead the
Palestinian authority to obliterate the Intifada and guarantee the
security of the [Israeli] occupiers.".
