SOSHI, Russia, July 17 (IslamOnline)- The local authorities in Soshi in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia has prevented the construction of a mosque for the Muslims in the city which has no mosques.

In a press conference held on Monday, July 15, in the governorate building of the Russian city to discuss the international and regional problems, Nicola Kondratinco, the former governor of Krasnodar region and the deputy of the city, said that the world is targeting Muslims.

He added that he will not hesitate in driving Muslims away from Soshi city alleging that the whole world would support this act.

On the other hand, Rose Ramadanova, the head of an Islamic organization in Soshi, declared to the Russian Islamic newspaper Al Sandorr News on Monday that Kondratinco is considered the actual ruler of the city which suffers from racism and religious prejudice.

Ramadanova added that Kondratinco hates Muslims. She added that he practice this racial policy against Muslims for more that three years.

She said that there were 43,000 Muslims who shape a considerable part of the population in the city of 267,000. Muslims in this city are prevented from celebrating Islamic weddings.

Muslims are also unable to pray for their dead or bury them as Islamic shari’a dictates.

Ramadanova pointed out that Muslim oppression is so severe to the extent that they are unable to pray publicly as they have no mosques except a small mosque in the garage of a small building in the city.

Al Sandorr News accused the local authorities of Krasnodar governorate and Soshi of practicing racism and Nazism against Muslims who form a majority in this city. The newspaper also described Kondratinco as being “the new Stalin.”

On the other hand, Nizhny Novgorod governorate celebrated the inauguration of a new mosque for Muslims in the village of Betracsy, supported by the religious administration of Tatarstan Republic and the subsidy of one of a Muslim business man whose name is Rafael Mustafeen.

Meanwhile Osman Isaacov the Mufti of Tatarstan Republic declared to Tatar channel “TRT” on Sunday, July 14, that the Religious Administration will inaugurate in Kazaan a new branch of the Russian Islamic university.

Soshi is located on the Black Sea and is considered one of the biggest summer resorts in Russia.

The Islamic official institutions in the governorate are; the Religious Administration in South Russia, the Religious Administration for Europe and the Russian Islamic Congress.

It is worthy mentioning that the population in the Krasnodar governorate amounts to 17 million with the Muslims forming 46%. It also has about 353 mosques, according to the official Russian information.
