Jenin’s Disaster Is Incomparable To The Worst Earthquake

Jenin Disaster

JENIN, April 20 (IslamOnline) – “Israeli barbaric forces burnt my home in front of my eyes and shelled it with four mortars . I’m looking for two of my kids in the rubble of my house, don’t know if I will find them or not, but I can tell this smell might be theirs. Yet I won’t stop looking for them”, says Hassan Abou Iad.

Jenin camp that encompass 13 thousand Palestinians was subjected to the most horrible massacre to eliminate the so-called “infrastructure of terrorism,” according to Israeli officials.

The moment you’re in Jenin, you will find debris of burnt houses, shops, totally devastated by Israeli tanks and helicopter gunship, yet if you proceed farther, you will find a waste land, where people are looking for their families, bereaved women wailing over body remains of their loved ones. Others are dumbfounded. Worse still there is no equipment for snatching bodies out of the rubble to a decent last resort.

Forty five bodies were found, some were identified, others not, a Red Crescent official told IslamOnline. “After diligent endeavors I could get four bodies, however, I expect there are hundreds still, the smell can tell. It was a massacre.”

As for the UN envoy , she described the Jenin camp and what she saw as “absolutely horrendous.”

According to UN specialists what happened in Jenin registers something worse than the most powerful magnitude on the Richter scale.

“I worked 24 years to have what I had, they destroyed it in no time,” says Hassan Abou Iad. I’ve seen them bury a handicapped person, they executed him, he was narrating the story standing on a rubble pile of what was once his house. He doesn’t know where are his kids, but he can smell them.”

The existence of journalists in Jenin is banned; the sound of heavy artillery is heard everywhere. Neither Journalists, nor human right activists can reach the camp.

In the meantime, during the severe lack of ammunition the village of Salem is abundant with food, water, and drugs, but no one can deliver what is needed.

Hassan Abou Iad posed a rather critical question, when an Israeli is killed everybody rushes in as if it’s the end of the world, don’t you think such massacres need interference?
