Death To Jewish settlers: Anti-Zionist Poet

Tom Paulin

CAIRO April 13, (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - In an interview with the Egyptian paper, Al-Ahram Weekly, Tom Paulin, an anti-Zionist prolific writer confirms Jewish settlers in Israel "should be shot dead."

Paulin says he feels nothing but hatred for Israelis, yet he shows empathy for Palestinian resistance activists. "I can understand how bombers feel," Paulin says, “Attacks on Israeli civilians boost morale."

The comments of Paulin, who is professor of English at Hertford College, Oxford, emerged yesterday, as six people were killed and 60 injured when a female resistance activist blew herself up in Jerusalem.

The Northern Irish poet added: "I take the view that the Palestinians are in the same position as the French when they were invaded by Germany in the World War II. The settlers are the equivalent of the Germans or Franco trying to overthrow the Spanish Republic. Sharon is the equivalent of Franco."

Last year, Paulin was condemned by the Board of Deputies of British Jews, when the Observer published his poem, in which he suggested the Israeli army deliberately gunned down "little Palestinian boys".
