Response To Israeli Enforced Occupation , A Bomb Blast Injures Settlers
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, April 1 (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - A powerful explosion rocked west Jerusalem on Monday, witnesses said, adding that the blast appeared to be a car bomb.
Initial reports indicated that three people were wounded, one of them seriously, when the bomb detonated on Haneviim Street, close to the boundary between west Jerusalem and occupied east Jerusalem.
IslamOnline correspondent, Maha Abdel Hadi, reported that the car exploded when an Israeli policeman was suspicious about the car and tried to open it when it exploded.
She added that the car exploded in Asbat Israel street near to East Jerusalem.
In another resistance act an Israeli was shot dead Monday by a Palestinian gunman near the Jewish settlement of Har Homa on the outskirts of Jerusalem, Israeli medical sources said.
Security sources said the man was gravely wounded by Palestinian gunman, who apparently escaped after the resistance attack. He was taken to Ein Karem hospital in Jerusalem but died shortly afterwards from his wounds, the sources said, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported.
The armed wing of the Jihad resistance group, the Al-Quds Brigades, claimed the shooting, in a statement received in Beirut by AFP.
The "Zionist settler was killed in the region of Jabal Abu Ghneim in Jerusalem, at the hands of an elite shooter from our mujahideen heroes," said the group, which has carried out scores of anti-Israeli resistance attacks.
"We tell the enemy leaders that their barbaric aggression against our people will not ensure security" the Israeli people, it said, adding that the group had "surprises for the days to come."
Israeli security services confirmed that an Israeli had been killed, although it was unclear if the victim was a settler or a soldier.
