Hindu Nationalists Preach Venom Against Islam

WASHINGTON, March 18 (IslamOnline) - The national convener, Surendra Jain, of the Bajrang Dal, a Hindu nationalist organization in India, while speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad said that "jihad" is spreading unabated in India.

Urging Indian Muslims to cut off ties to Islam, he said that Muslims must renounce jihad stating that it is akin to suicide.

He said that Muslims must realize that they are not living in "the time Muhammad Sahab [Prophet Muhammad (SAW)], who with the help of some soldiers, looted the tribes and destroyed their temples."

Jain also said that, "Muslims should also realize that they are not living in the times of looters like Muhammad Ghori or Babar [Indian Muslim rulers] who destroyed and desecrated temples and forcibly converted Hindus to Islam."

He said that the ancestors of 95% of Indian Muslims were originally Hindu and that the children of Muslim invaders, through their Hindu wives, are now the majority of Indian Muslims.

"Islam itself has become the enemy of Muslims," he said, and added that, "Muslims must contemplate what will happen if Hindus, Christians and Jews unite.

"The activities of global jihad are currently being funded by Saudi petrodollars. What will happen when the petrol wells will dry out in 15-20 years and the Mujahideen will be left cash strapped? What will the Mujahideen do then?"

Quoting out of context from the hadith "Muslim Shareef", Jain said that "Islam, which began under poor conditions in Medina, will also end under similar circumstances when it will return to Medina."

He also complained that Indian Muslims are "speaking in Pakistan's language." Stating that a Pakistani delegate in Geneva on January 26, said "If Ram Mandir is constructed on the site of the Babri Masjid, then there were will be widespread killings on such a scale that it will make Bosnia look like paradise."

"The Babri Masjid was a symbol of humiliation for India. Therefore I request Muslims to support our efforts to construct the temple," Jain said.

Commenting on the rise in the number of Islamic schools in India he said, "Ten thousand mosques and 20,000 madrasas have come up in the last 10 years. Militants are supported by some of these institutions and weapons are stored in madrasas."

He said that the Bajrang Dal has decided to mobilize 3,000,000 youngsters and train 300,000 among them in martial arts to "defend India from the threat of Islamic fundamentalism."

"Many forces are deliberately targeting the Hindus. It is high time we did something for self-defense. Special camps will be opened in different parts of the country for the program. Ten lakh [1,000,000] cadres will be given trishuls [tridents] and from among them, three lakh (300,000) will be trained in martial arts," he said.

Jain, whose name has been mentioned in the police's first information report in the Qur'an burning incident, denied the incident occured and described the charge as "fictitious and part of an international conspiracy against Hindus."

"The police denied any such incident when the news came out. But after a few days the grapevine created tension in many cities including Hyderabad. This shows that there was a deliberate attempt to rake up the issue," Jain said.

Despite the fact that a Hindu photographer from an international news agency captured the incident and the story was reported and broadcast globally, Jain continued to deny the event occurred.

After initial denials, police arrested two Bajrang Dal activists for their involvement in the incident. The two were later on released after a remand in custody for a day.

The Indian press, and international news agencies carrying the story, continue to maintain that the Qur'an burning "allegedly" occurred, despite a widely circulated photograph clearly depicting the event taken by an international news agency.
