avian flu death tolls on the rise and the discovery of bird flu in
mammals, scientists are bracing themselves for the worst. The H5N1
virus spreads among birds through contact between an uninfected
bird and an infected bird's saliva, nasal secretions, or feces. It
could also be contracted by humans through contact with infected
poultry. However, if this avian flu virus mutates to a form easily
transmittable between humans, it may ignite a worldwide
pandemic...
