Around the Muslim World
Really
strange are those habits and traditions practiced by Muslim peoples in
the many parts of the Muslim world. In Patan in Thailand, the bride is
responsible for preparing everything. This involves the wedding
clothes for herself and her groom and even preparing the house.
In
Jawa; Indonesia, the bride hosts her groom in her father’s house for
90 consecutive days representing the honey moon. During that period,
the groom does not exert the least effort. All he has to do is to stay
with his bride and make works for her happiness.
In
Yemen, it is totally strange. As soon as they reach their new house
and most accurately upon her first step on the new house, the groom
hurries to put his foot on his bride’s. If the bride succeeds in
pulling her foot before him, this gives her the right to keep the
position of household. However, if the groom proves strong and did not
allow her foot to be pulled, he will be the master and the responsible
for every thing in the house.
Variant
and strange are these habits indeed. In this section, we will have a
