French Serial Killer on Trial 
A self-confessed killer faces trial on Thursday, March 27, 2008, for raping and murdering seven young women with the help of his wife in one of the worst serial-murder cases in recent French history. Michel Fourniret, 65, has admitted killing seven women over a 14-year period between 1987 and 2001. He was arrested in Belgium in 2003 after an attempt to kidnap a 13-year-old girl. Now aged 17, she will be giving evidence at the trial but out of public view.
