US Admits Suez Canal Killing
The US embassy in Cairo admitted on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, that a US navy-chartered ship killed an Egyptian near the Suez Canal two days ago. Mohammed Fouad was buried on Tuesday amid expressions of anger against the Egyptian government and the US. Fouad was onboard one of several small boats regularly used by locals to sell cigarettes and local products to the canal's shipping.
