Bush Criticizes Russia, China on Democracy
President George W. Bush on Tuesday, June 05, 2007, criticized Russia and China on democracy. Bush said reforms that once promised to empower citizens in Russia have been derailed, with troubling implications for democratic development. Bush said this same approach applies to other allies with difficult democratic records, naming Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and China. The president was speaking during a visit to the Czech Republic, en route to the G8 summit in Germany, where activist continuing their fierce protests against the summit.
