Residents in Beit Surik Protest Separation Wall
Palestinians protested at the construction site of an Israeli separation barrier near the West Bank village of Beit Surik on Friday, March 4, 2005. In June 2002, the government of Israel decided to erect a physical barrier to separate Israel and the West Bank in order to prevent the uncontrolled entry of Palestinians into Israel. Most of the barrier route was set in the West Bank and not along the Green Line. The International Court of Justice ruled in July that the barrier was illegal.
