Bangladesh Ferry Sinks: 57 Killed, 150 Missing
At least 57 people were killed and nearly 150 were missing after a ferry, M.V. Maharaj, capsized in a storm on Sunday, February 20, 2005. Only two or three people are known to have survived. The ferry had been sailing from Dhaka to the southern town of Chandpur when it was caught in a tropical storm on the Buriganga River late on Saturday. Most of the passengers and crew are feared drowned.
