Fallujah Residents Witness Ruin 
More families queued at a checkpoint to enter the devastated city of Fallujah, 50 kms (31 mi.) west of Baghdad, Friday, December 24, 2004. Fallujah residents are returning home despite the ruin and non-humanitarian current status. About 900 residents returned to the war-scarred city Thursday on the first day the Iraqi government and US military had welcomed people back to their city since the US bloody offense to root out resistance began on November 8.
