Prisoner Abuse by US Soldiers Widespread 
American Civil Liberties Union, the largest US civil rights group, obtained documents that show prisoner abuse since the beginning of the war on terror as being widespread, Thursday, December 23, 2004. According to ACLU, courts martial are proceeding against dozens of soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay. Some 49 internal military documents posted on the ACLU Web site describe major abuse incidents, most of them related to Iraq.
