Sri Lankan Women Demand End of Ethnic Conflict
Sri Lankan women marked International Human Rights Day near the presidential palace, in Manila, Friday, December 10, 2004, demanding peace talks between the government and Tamil Tiger rebels in Colombo. The demonstrators called for the revival of stalled talks to find a permanent solution to Sri Lanka’s drawn out ethnic conflict which has claimed over 60,000 lives since 1972. (AFP)
