Iraq: Five US Forces Killed in Al-Anbar Province
Three US servicemen were killed on Sunday, November 28, 2004, in clashes in Ramadi in the Al-Anbar province of western Iraq. This brings to five the total number killed in the province over the past three days, while many others have been injured. Two soldiers were killed on Friday, but the US military could not immediately release any details on the circumstances of their death. Al-Anbar province includes the Sunni resistance strongholds of Fallujah and Ramadi, which have seen some of the worst post-war fighting in Iraq.
