Morocco: Tens of Thousands Protest Against US
Between 30,000 and 45,000 Moroccans took to the streets of Rabat on Sunday, November 28, 2004, to protest the US occupation of Iraq, the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and a planned forum on US President George W. Bush’s vision of a “Greater Middle East,” which is to be held in the Moroccan capital next month. The Forum for the Future—a project formally presented in June by Bush and treated with reserve in the Arab world, including Morocco—is scheduled for December 11.
