Thai Muslims Pray for Peace
Thai Muslims offer special prayers for peace in the Muslim dominated southern provinces after their Friday Prayers in Bangkok, November 26, 2004. At least 550 people have died in Thailand’s mainly Muslim south since a decades-old separatist insurgency sparked back into life in January. Concern about the unrest was inflamed by the October 25 deaths of 87 Muslim protesters, mostly through suffocation after they were piled into army trucks. (AFP)
