Filipinos Mark Anniversary of US Base Closures 
Filipino activists gathered during a protest outside the US embassy in Manila, Thursday, September 16, 2004, to mark the 13th anniversary of a historic senate vote in 1991 that closed two former US bases in the northern Philippines. The demonstrators staged the protest calling on President Gloria Arroyo to rescind her support for the so-called US-led war on terrorism.
