Russian TV Shows Hostage Crisis Tape
Russia’s NTV television aired a tape, Tuesday, September 7, that it said was made by the hostage takers showing what seemed to be the first hours of the three-day school crisis that ended in the deaths of more than 335 hostages and 31 hostage takers. The tape showed hostages sitting in the gymnasium of the Beslan school, northern Ossetia and hostage takers with guns and bombs. NTV estimated there were some 1,000 in the gym.
