Two French Journalists Taken Hostage in Iraq 
Two French journalists were taken hostage in Iraq by a militant group calling itself "The Islamic Army in Iraq" demanding the rescinding of a ban on the Islamic headscarf in French schools. The hostages, Christian Chesnot (L), a reporter for Radio France International, and Georges Malbrunot (R) a correspondent for Le Figaro newspaper, went missing on August 20 in the Iraqi city of Najaf . This is the same group that killed Italian journalist Enzo Baldoni after taking him hostage.
