Perceptions

Billions of souls casting their own perception,
Some of them true, while others deception.
Some see the signs that Allah brings,
The warmth of the sun, the bird as it sings.
All of creation praises Allah…
All except for some of those billions.
Some praise money, while others praise their car,
Some praise men who can kick a ball far.
Some praise beautification without the slightest hesitation,
Some praise intoxicants that leave you in a trance.
Some praise themselves as they reflect on their greatness,
Some praise their lords even though they may hate this.

But there are a few…
Truly Allah has blessed this crew,
For they would rather remember Allah than me and you.
More than the money and more than the wealth,
More than the food that is stored on the shelf.
More than the luxuries that this dunya presents,
More than being the center of attention for a major event.
For they love Allah, striving for that beautiful bounty,
They search for it from state to state and county to county.
They run to and fro chasing His pleasure,
They know this blessing is more pleasant than a hidden treasure.
So this question posed for you and I,
Which of these perceptions should the two of us try?
