CAIRO,
March 10 (IslamOnline.net) - Under the slogan "Together Against
War … To Security Council",
IslamOnline.net gets up The Million Signatures Campaign
petition in a new concerted effort to turn away the specter of
U.S.-heralded war looming against Iraq.
The
petition will then be sent to all of Security Council members before
the expected vote on the U.S. draft resolution paving the way for war
against Iraq on Tuesday, March 11.
Citing
the preamble to United Nations' Charter, the message to be sent with a
slogan of two intersected olive branches would be a clear reminder
that the U.N. is originally entrusted with very a significant role, to
"Maintain international peace and security".
The
idea stemmed from a humanitarian stance gathering all of those
pronouncing a firm "NO" to a large-scale campaign against
Muslim-Arab Iraq, with shedding a light on all religions' joint
abhorrence of war, aggression and ruin.
IslamOnline.net
is keen to herald The Million Signatures Campaign to thousands of
Internet activists, international civil rights groups and anti-war
sites as well as world celebrities to electronically sign their
opposition to war that will leave behind millions of casualties,
homeless and refugees as well as a long trail of destruction.
The
petition appears also on "Spotlight
on Iraq" page to make it easier to submit for
English-speaking petitioners extend their signatures.

The
idea is gaining momentum, with a substantial turnout expected to be
boosted by other more signatures within coming few hours before the
decisive Tuesday vote, said the "Anti-U.S. War Forum" page
editor Dalia Youssef.
The
page sent similar petitions to the Arab Summit convened in Egyptian
Red Sea resort of Sharm Al-Sheikh on March 1 and the Organization of
Islamic Conference (OIC) Summit in Qatar on March 5.
It
also published a statement issued out of a meeting of Asian and
Australian religious leaders who voiced their flat rejection to
tipping the balance for WAR.
Let
us unite and co-operate to stop this brutal campaign against Iraq.
