Human
Relief Foundation is a charitable humanitarian organization,
registered under charity commission in the United Kingdom. It is
a member of BOND (British Overseas NGO's for Development) and is
a signatory to the Code of Conduct for the International
Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was founded
nearly a century and a half ago. It seeks to preserve a measure
of humanity in the midst of war. The ICRC offers medical and
relief help in wars and disaster situations.
Islamic
Relief (IR) is an international relief and development charity,
which aims to alleviate the suffering of the world’s poorest
people. It is an independent non-governmental organization (NGO)
that was founded in the UK in 1984. As well as responding to
disasters and emergencies, IR promotes sustainable economic and
social development by working with local communities -
regardless of race, religion or gender.
The
American Friends Service Committee carries out many service,
development, social justice, and peace programs throughout the
world. Founded by Quakers in 1917 to provide conscientious
objectors with an opportunity to aid civilian war victims,
AFSC's work attracts the support and partnership of people of
many races, religions, and cultures.
Médecins
Sans Frontières aka (also known as Doctors Without Borders or
MSF) is a private, non-profit organization that delivers
emergency aid to victims of armed conflict, epidemics, and
natural and man-made disasters, and to others who lack health
care due to social or geographical isolation.
The
International Rescue Committee is a non-profit, non-sectarian,
voluntary agency providing assistance to refugees around the
world. At the outbreak of an emergency, IRC provides sanctuary
and lifesaving assistance-rapidly delivering critical medical
and public health services, shelter and food. Once a crisis
stabilizes, IRC sets up programs to enable refugees to cope with
life in exile. Through training, education and income-generating
programs, IRC helps refugees acquire new skills to become
self-sufficient.
Mercy
Corps is a non-profit organization that exists to alleviate
suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build
secure, productive, and just communities. Since 1979, Mercy
Corps has provided over $710 million in assistance to people in
76 nations. The agency's programs currently reach over 5 million
people in more than 30 countries, including the United States.
More than 92% of the agency's resources are allocated to
programs that directly assist those in need.
Catholic
Relief Services was founded in 1943 by the Catholic Bishops of
the United States to assist the poor and disadvantaged outside
the country. According to CRS, the fundamental motivating force
in all its activities is the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it
pertains to the alleviation of human suffering, the development
of people and the fostering of charity and justice in the world.
It provides direct aid to the poor, and involves people in their
own development, helping them to realize their potential.
Relief
web is a project of the United Nations Office for the
Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). It aims at serving
virtually the information needs of the humanitarian relief
community. It offers an online database serving relief
organizations and including online resources, highlights and
related sites.
The
Irfani
Tariqat, a sufi organization which advocates for
Universal Human Rights, has joined forces with the humanitarian
organization, Life
for Relief and Development, in an effort to deliver
relief supplies to the suffering masses of Iraq. Mashriq.org
sends deliveries of medicine and relief supplies to the people
of Iraq.
Life
for Relief and Development is a non-governmental organization in
consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the
United Nations. Life was founded in 1993 by concerned
Muslim-American professionals in response to the humanitarian
crisis that had developed in Iraq as a result of the Gulf War
conflict. Today, Life for Relief and Development is dedicated to
not only alleviating human suffering in Iraq but also around the
world regardless of race, color, religion or cultural
background.

Concern is working with international relief agencies through an

Universalist Service Committee is a non-sectarian organization
that promotes American model human rights and social justice
worldwide. It maintains partnerships in the United States, South
and Southeast Asia, Central Africa, Latin America and the
Caribbean.

Impact, formerly known as International Service Agencies (ISA),
is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the poorest
people on earth. Global Impact represents 50 of the most
respected U.S.-based international charities in the workplace
giving campaigns across the nation. Each year, Global Impact and
its member agencies build pride, hope and trust in millions of
lives affected by poverty, disaster and neglect.
American
Baptist Churches is a “Christ-centered” organization that
believes that the local congregation is the fundamental unit of
mission and their priority as a denomination is to affirm,
support, and challenge congregations as they live out their
mission in “Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth.”
The
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a non-profit
humanitarian agency that is at work in more than 100 countries.
It aims at providing food, medicine and primary assets that help
people in areas of disasters and wars.
Lutheran
World Relief is a Christian-based organization which envisions a
world in which each person and every generation lives in
justice, dignity, and peace. LWR works with partners in 50
countries to help people grow food, improve health, strengthen
communities, end conflict, build livelihoods and recover from
disasters.
