Tidal
waves hit almost three fourths of the Sri Lankan coastal area and brought great
disaster to the Srk Lankan nation.
The
social services department of Sri Lanka works round the clock to provide relief
to the victims of this calamity. Relief goods have already reached the stricken
areas. This campaign requires resources on a massive scale.
With
the blessing of Allah swt and the support of general public the Sri Lanka
Jama'ath-e-Islami was able to dispatch five relief teams immediately with dry
rations collected from the general public in Capital Colombo and the
surroundings. All the teams are comprised with medical professionals.
The
Jama'ath has established four regional centers for smooth co-ordination of the
relief activities.
Sri lanka
Jama'ath-e-islami has already collected nearly 33 thousand US$ and earnestly
requests much more assistance to meet the immediate need of the affected people
in a meaningful way.
