We are overwhelmed every now and then by the names of new animals' and birds' species that are endangered or threatened.

This of course is done without pointing out that sometimes these species are the only way that some poor people can earn their livings.

So how can we solve this equation?

Of course we can find a way out .

One solution for this problem is the governments have what we call the political will.

If this will is there, they can compensate these poor people or find them alternative jobs.

I don't agree with you.

If we think this way, we will not be able to do anything.

On the individual and organizational level, we can do a lot.

Even if the governments are not allowing people to help, they will not prevent them from spreading awareness among their communities.

Assalamu Alaikum.

I am too uneducated in Islam to know if eradicating a species from this planet is a sin, but I do believe that ALLAH has granted us dominion over these animals that do not have souls. If a man in Rwanda was to kill the last of the great apes in order to buy a beer I would curse him. If he did it because his daughter was starving I would contratulate him.

Yet think about this...

In the U.S.A. every year, the amount of money spent, not on pet food, but on "Pet Toys" would be enough to feed the entire third world. As such exactly who do you think is guilty of eradicating endangered species from this little planet?

James,

You said: In the U.S.A. every year, the amount of money spent, not on pet food, but on "Pet Toys" would be enough to feed the entire third world.

Which should say a lot huh?!  That some leaders are not concerned enough about their own people.  The USA gives more than any other country in the world as well.  How about talking to all the Muslims destoyers about channeling their energies into "giving to the people" instead of taking from the people and then maybe Islam could afford to give more as well.  Though I realize it is dangerous to denounce the Muslim violence around the world, so the alternative is to bash and blame all on the USA instead?! ;)

As such exactly who do you think is guilty of eradicating endangered species from this little planet?

Poor leaders whose agendas are for themselves instead of their own poor people, so that the people cannot afford to buy, pet supplies and food?! ;)

Regards
