On the Brink of a Disaster

Every day, the news bring us a new evidence that our earth is on the brink of a disaster due to global warming.

There is no need to repeat the hazards of global warming that all of us know, and are more than obvious, what I need to discuss now will be, is it applicable to decrease global warming activities both on the individual and the governmental level?

Do you think it's only a matter of strong will, or it is something that needs complete reform to our lives, I don't think it is simple to tell someone to use public transport while his/her car parks beside the house.

Do you think people are ready to this change in their life style?

And if the developed world has this capacity, what about the developing and poor countries?

The problem sunitasunita is that there are still people who live in denial. There are still people who think that global warming isn't that big a deal. However, the truth is like they said in the opening ceremony of the Nairobi Climate Change Conference, global warming IS the greatest challenge that mankind ever faced!

The problem should be addressed, and quickly, on all levels. Governmental level there should be stronger laws to protect against greenhouse gases and cutting of forests etc

And personally, there should be more education! I was talking to a friend about global warming and her reply was "oh I don't mind if it gets a couple of degrees warmer in my lifetime!" That is the kind of ignorance of the disaster that we have and that is what we need to address the most imo.

Global warming is nothing but a myth in some people's minds, instead of thinking how to counteract real dangers like terrorism, we are stuck to global warming issue all the time.

I don't understand how some people exaggerate things until it reaches this extent, pollution has always been there, we have a lot of challenges ahead and we want to concentrate all our efforts to what is really fruitful.
