Aisha (ra) the wife of the Prophet (saw) was asked: ' What did the Prophet (saw) do at home.' She replied: 'He used to work for his family (ie he helped out around the home with the daily chores), and when he heard the adhan (the call of prayer) he would go (to the Mosque). (Bukhari)

Aisha (ra), the wife of the Prophet (saw) said: The Prophet (saw) used to stitch his own clothes, milk the goats and helped with the household chores. (Bukhari)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

STATEMENT OF ALLAH IN HOLY QURAN,

( SURAH AL-AHZAB  33 : 21 )

Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah

a beautiful pattern ( of conduct ) for

any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day,

and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.

Salam brother,

Our beloved Prophet ( s.a.w ).

The qualities of a leader.

Humble, down to earth and not egoist.

But a great man, leader and prophet in eyes of Allah

and all muslims.

The qualities that are seldom found in most leaders.

The role of family members in the household grows in parallell with society.

As economy grows, as civilisation becomes more global, as economic competition between nations grows...  society changes and so does the household.

Not that long ago, the women stayed at home to take care of the kids and the housework and the husband went out to work and earn money.

Today, women work as well.  The evolution that got women to work is twofold.

1) life is more expensive - one average income just doesn't cut it anymore in most cases.

2) the old ways gave men all the power and made women dependend on the husband, wich pretty much put them into a position that shared a very thin line with being nothing more then a breeding machine and a house slave.  If a husband wasn't good for his wife... there pretty much was nothing she could do about it.  She was 100% dependend on the husband.

People often say that society is "rotten" and that this shows in divorce rates.  This is very very incorrect.  In fact, society is much healthier then it ever was.  The high divorce rates aren't a result of a "rotten" mentality... they are rather a result of a BETTER mentality and a more humane civilisation.

Women today CAN live independly.  They CAN earn their own money.  They don't NEED a husband anymore to take care of them.  In other words: the bar has been raised for the qualities of the husband.  Women simply don't need to put up anymore with all the bullocks of some type of men.  Today, they have the option to leave and still prosper and live a good healthy and wealthy life.

Anyhow...

As society changed to a two-income family structure... women simply can't do all the house work by themselves anymore.  That's a full time job you know?  Keeping the house clean, the clothes washed, the food prepared, the children taken care off...  So the husband needs to step up and share a load of the work.

I feel for women who live in a situation where the husband hasn't realised this very obvious new way of living.
