Salam, brothers and sisters..

Most of people, especially the youth, are preparing themselves to follow up the coming world cup in Germany..

In principle, I myself have no objection to sports as long as ethics and morals are observed. But, I see that sports competitions can play a vital role in bridging the gap between countries. Palestinians, for example, can seize the chance of the world cup in introducing their case to people. They can show how they suffer from oppression, injustice, and unfair treatment.

Do you agree with me that sports can help people know each other? Can sports competitions help in bridging the gap between countries?

Regards..

Like the 72 Olympic, you Muslims seem to see sports as a venue for propaganda. That’s not what it is about. We in the civilized part of the world see sports as a venue for friendship, computation and enjoyment.

Hello Ibn Shihab,

I'm not being sarcastic, but the wording in your post is off a bit.  It's funny actually.  The word you meant to use is GAP.  GAB means to talk.  So yes, I think that sports will make people gab.

Many regards,

Susan

yes,

i definitely agree that sports are a way of communication between the various diverse countries, religions etc..out there because if you lok at it in a certain way it provides a basis for comparison or agreement between countries that have nothing to do with each other but share a basic common interest.
