What Takes Priority?

The Muslim Ummah is facing a difficult test. After  the ceasefire in Lebanon, people started to talk about the beliefs of the Shiites? Are they Muslims or not?

The question is: Is it time to raise such questions or rather we should unite in the face of our enemies?

What is a Muslim's main priority where most of his or her efforts should lie?

Personly, I believe that none of us can judge anyone else, unless of cource perhaps they openly do an act of kufr (and in that instance, we should try to show and explain their error so inshallah they can resolve it fisabillAllah, inshallah). Allah (swt) is The Judge.

If someone declares the Shahada, then they are Muslim in front of us. What is in their hearts and their actions is for Allah alone to judge and decide upon.

At the end of the day, there is only ONE Qur'an, and ONE sunnah. So why do we see the need to split and divide ourselves into so many different groups and sects??? The only name Allah gives us in the Qur'an, is Muslim. The only name Prophet Muhammad (saw) gives us in his Sunnah, is Muslim. So why do we feel the need to call ourselves by different names???

As Muslims we need to unite and help and suport each other through this dunya fisabillAllah, not fight and argue amongst each other. Islam, we do not simply "belive" too be true, but we "KNOW" it is true.

If we all stood together as Muslims, and helped each other to please Allah, the stronger we will become inshallah and the weaker the shaytaan will get inshallah.

The Muslim world seems to spend too much time and energy fighting amongst ourselves than fighting the shaytaan, and trying to change the hearts of the kufr to Muslim inshallah. why???? what is the point???

Bimillah ar-rahman, ar-rahim,

In July, 2005, there was held a convocation of, if I recall correctly, about 200 top scholars of the eight common forms of Shari'a, and representatives of most Islamic governments in Damascus, convened at the request of the King of Jordan.

Their conclusions, and signed declaration, stated that anyone who professed shahadah was Muslim, and could not be declared excommunicate by anyone.  This was to combat the idea that one group of our faith could declare another invalid, and therefor liable to be attacked.

I strongly suggest that we remember that we are all family.  There is far too many outsiders who would rejoice at our internal fighting - you have only to read any of the "patriotic" web sites in the US to hear them ask why anyone is upset with Lebanon when Darfur is going on.

As to who is "right," Allah knows best.

Peace, my brothers.
