Islam Online - Blood Donor Day Activities

To commemorate the World Blood Donors Day, 2004, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Blood Donor centre has planned the following activities, with the prime focus on the importance of Voluntary Non-remunerated Blood Donors in the Society & Voluntary Non-remunerated Blood Donation.

1. Programme on National TV Network in the morning transmission

1.1 Discussion Panel: Chairman / Secretary General, PRCS, Assistant Director, BDC
Voluntary Blood Donor, Blood User (Patients with chronic illnesses)

1.2 Live Blood Donation : selected donors (male / female) to donate and complete blood donation during the discussion & talk about their experiences emphasizing Safety / lack of weakness & Health Improvement.

2. Programme & Ads on Radio FM

2.1 Talk Show: Assistant Director, Blood Donor Centre to participate in 1 hours talk showIncluding Q & A session

2.2 Blood Donation: Ads promoting blood donation & highlighting the safety aspects will be aired through out the 24 hours transmission

3. Print Media

3.1 Articles in all leading newspapers

Articles in all leading newspapers thanking, saluting and recognizing Voluntary blood Donors for their services to humanity by PRCS & highlighting blood Safety and all aspects of voluntary blood donation.

4. Rally to spread the word
A rally with participants from all walks of life including blood donors, volunteers etc from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.

5. Blood Donors Awards / Recognition Ceremony
This specific activity has already been organized by Pakistan Red Crescent Socety in December, 2003.
