Islam Online - Blood Donor Day Activities

The Indian Society of Blood transfusion and Immunohaematology (ISBTI) is the National Non-Governmental Organization representing the speciality of Transfusion Medicine in India and involved both in the promotion of voluntary blood program and technical aspects related to blood banks. Its mission is to make an effective contribution to improve the Blood Transfusion services, promote and enhance voluntary blood donation and to make Blood Transfusion as safe as possible.

To commemorate World Blood Donor Day, to honour and thank all the blood donors worldwide for giving the ''gift of Life.'' Indian society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohaematology Delhi Chapter in collaboration with National AIDS Control Organization and State Blood Transfusion Council is organizing a symposium on "Quality in Blood donation" at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Felicitation of young regular non remunerated blood donors with award of honour and certificate of commendation followed by a tea and lunch party
Electronic Media - Radio and Television and print media -press coverage
Thank you Messages for Blood Donors on inflated Balloons at prominent places in Delhi
A delegate Kit comprising of bag with logo of world blood Donor day
Distribution of publicity material to the participants -Badges, flags with logo of world blood Donor day etc
Symposium on Quality in Blood Donation to provide an opportunity to set up roots towards Quality in Blood Donation and highlight the fact that voluntary non-remunerated blood donors are the foundation of a safe blood supply as they are associated with significantly lower levels of infections that can be transmitted by transfusion, including HIV and hepatitis viruses. Screening for transfusion-transmissible infections is essential, but the safest donations come from the safest donors.
