The idea of establishing islamonline portal at the beginning as limited to an electronic magazine that aims to spread Islam all over the world. After that the idea has developed to be establishing an international Islamic portal on the internet with various languages in order to serve Muslims wherever they are .moreover, to make non Muslims recognize the true image/nature about Islam & Muslims.

In October1999 islamonline portal has been launched as an Arabic & English speaking portal which is directed for all people; Muslims and non-Muslims regardless of all geographic, religious & linguistic barriers or any cultural or racial diversity.

From the first beginning islamonline has adopted a clear mission which is to participate in the Islamic renaissance through establishing an international Islamic website that provides information and services for both Muslims and non-Muslims in Arabic and English languages for now. It also has the reference for all matters that relate to Islam ,its science, civilization & people . and it is characterized by credibility of content & proficiency of display

 The Reading Islam project aims at creating and maintaining a balanced, holistic, and authentic center of information on Islam and interactive discourse, with an aim to promote dialogue and understanding through a variety of media. It is Reading Islam's role to attempt to define an understanding of Islam, as well as to clarify Islam's standpoint with regards to issues such as world peace, human rights, minority rights, conservation of the environment, the right of religious freedom, and other issues that may be of concern to the contemporary world.

The Islam presented is a collective conceptual paradigm that covers a wide array of peoples.

Reading Islam also aims at empowering new Muslims in their faith by:

• providing clear and beneficial information on Islam
• raising awareness of spiritual issues and practice
• Conscientiously supporting the community of new Muslims through various services and media based on their needs.

Another serial of 17 books has been produced to tackle some of the social problems that family, youth & children face specially in the Gulf countries.
