The sincerity of a person's heart is
reflected in each single moment during the hajj trip.
The hardship of the journey wouldn't be survived if the
intention of the pilgrim was not sincere and fully
determined on the goal of pleasing Allah.
Sincerity of faith is reflected in
the negligence of one's personal image that dissolves
through melting with the mass of pilgrims. No one is
attentive to his or her ego, appearance, looks, or
self-esteem.
All are tired and weary, pleading
and concerned about acceptance. No one is waiting to be
evaluated by his fellow neighbor, standing by his side,
hoping to be accepted by the Only One Who knows what
lies within our hearts: deceit or sincerity.
Allah is the One and Only Knower of
all that is obvious and that is hidden. He, the Lord of
all creations has decreed that He would not look at
people's looks or appearances for judgment, but He would
only look at their hearts for the judgment of their
sincerity. Hajj is the assembly where facial masks fall
and egos dissolve. Only hearts are the performers.
