Oh
Allah!
All
praise be to Allah Who has brought the crescent back into
sight!
Oh Allah bless this Ramadan, its day and its night!
The time when souls that have wandered come crawling back
to You again.
Used, bruised, torn and worn, from vicious wars with sin.
The time when we dust off our Qur’ans, as we remove them
from our shelves.
The time when the devils are chained, and we realize how
much evil is from our own selves!
Abstaining
from sex, food and drink, forcing the heedless ones to
think!
Think about where we are headed! Think about that Great
Day to be dreaded!
Standing in the crowded prayer,
Shoulder to shoulder, foot to foot as we reflect upon the
sacred,
Knowing that soon we will stand like this before Allah
naked!
Oh Allah bless this Ramadan and our hearts will be so
glad!
And grant us a great forgiveness... for we need it so bad!
Our young women have been losing their virginity. Oh
parents can’t you smell the blood?
Clothing themselves in nakedness, hijabs left dragging in
the mud!
Our young men have lost the desire to follow the Last
Prophet, the greatest example of them all!
And they compete with one another to be like the latest
entertainer or whoever can dribble a basketball!
Our parents have been drunk off culture, television and
money.
Funding their children’s imitation of the kuffar,
thinking that it’s just kind of funny!
Our students of knowledge have become like gangs,
rejoicing only amongst their
own kind.
Our masajid have become factories of argumentation
producing only bewildered minds!
Oh Allah never let Your house be just a beautiful building
of empty spaces!
Oh Allah let these carpets ever be wet, with the tears of
prostrating and repenting faces!
And oh Allah bless this Ramadan for us and our hearts will
be so overjoyed!
And grant us a great forgiveness or else we are so
destroyed!
