Awake from the Slumber

My heart pounds in my throat
and I choke on its black crust
I watch in terror as I see
those few good actions I thought I had, now turn to dust

Now everything I used to think was
sooo hard seems so easy
Now only praying five times a day
seems so cheesy!

Surely I should have prayed a million
for this is why I was created
Surely I was tricked by the devil
making the most beneficial seem the most hated!

Why wasn’t I a slave of Allah
when I had a choice back in the day
How could I have been so rotten
and forgotten the Reality of this Day!
