On
sighting the new moon of Ramadan, one has to say: O Lord!
“How beautiful is the new moon, it appears with the
beginning of every lunar month.” Allah’s Messenger has
taught us to say whenever we see the new moon at the
beginning of every lunar month: “O new moon of good and
guidance, I believe in Allah Who created you, I believe in
Allah Who created you, I believe in Allah Who created
you.”
