Death of `Abdullah Ibn Al-Mubarak
He
is Abu `Abdur Rahman `Abdullah Ibn Al-Mubarak Ibn Wadih Al-Hanzali.
He was agreed upon by the majority of the Muslim Ummah to be one of
the greatest scholars of Islam. He belongs to the generation next
to that of the Tabi`in (the generation of Muslims that succeeds the
Prophet’s Companions).
`Abdullah
Ibn Al-Mubarak was deeply rooted in religious knowledge especially
the Islamic Jurisprudence, Arabic literature, grammar, linguistics
and poetry. He was also notable for his eloquence, asceticism,
piety, fairness, late-night prayers, all acts of worship,
straightforwardness. Ibn Khuldun was known for his eloquent
speeches and he used to steer clear of indulging into barren
disputes.
He
died at Baheet, a well-known Iraqi city Iraq in Ramadan, 181 A.H.
at the age of 63.
