Your Turn

Which of the Blessings of your Lord can you Deny?

By Sheikh Muhammad Ali Al-Hanooti

The news we received tells the story of gales and floods that landed in UK and a part of France. 150,000 houses were out of electricity. Thousands of cars were flooded and damaged. A lot of people lost their lives and property. That happens in areas of the most technological and sophisticated, civilized areas. The Might of Allah is just giving a signal to man, who becomes boastful with atheism and secularism. Man, who doesn’t remember Allah at all.

What would have this country or those countries do to protect themselves against those unexpected calamities that are destined by the unseen? I read in the Qur’an in Surat Al-Haqqah when the ancient nations of Thamud and ‘Ad turned their backs on Allah. Thamud was destroyed by flood. ‘Ad was obliterated by gales.

Oh Allah! Your bounties are uncountable. Your blessings can never be responded to by all the means of praise and gratification. The greatest of all is that You helped us to be Muslims and blessed us with guidance and faith.
