Eid ul Fitr on Sunday,
December 16, 2001
The National
Islamic Shura Council of North America with the
consultation of Islamic Fiqh Council of North America has
decided that based on the indisputable astronomical
information of a Solar Eclipse occurring on the afternoon
of Friday, December 14, 2001, and upon the recommendation
of experts, the Hilal of Shawwal 1422 AH will not be
visible on the evening of Friday, December 14, 2001, from
anywhere in the world. So, Insha Allah, Eid ul Fitr will
be on Sunday, December 16, 2001.
