Bush to Thank New Ally Mongolia for Iraq Help
Hundreds of Mongolians lined the streets of the capital to welcome George W. Bush who on Monday, November 21, 2005, became the first U.S. president to visit the vast, windswept country to thank it for its help in Iraq. Air Force One carried Bush and his wife, Laura, to smoggy Ulan Bator in the frigid plains between Russia and China for a four-hour visit that was to include a speech and traditional ceremonies.
