At least 26 Palestinians were killed, including
two children, and more than 50 people were injured on the
second day of a large-scale Israeli operation in Rafah,
southern Gaza Strip, Wednesday, May 19, 2004. Twenty two were
killed when Israeli occupation forces raided a demonstration
where thousands were protesting a massive operation in the
refugee camp. It is one of the largest and bloodiest
operations in Gaza since Israel occupied it in 1967. Amnesty
International accused the Jewish state of war crimes over
house demolitions. (Watch
