El-Nour Islamic Center, in Kara, Togo, was built in
1997. The capacity of the mosque is 450 people. The center undertakes
different activities; it includes a young women's training center, a
nursery for children, a computer training center, three offices, a
French-Arabic school with 10 classrooms, a well, and an apartment for
the janitor. It also serves as an orphanage and a medical center.
Buildings are in concrete, concrete block, and wood. External walls are
clad in local stone.
