Salah Ad-Din: Conquests Against the Crusaders

Salah Ad-Din Al-Ayyubi (Saladin) was able to conquer the Crusaders in the battle of Hattin in AH 583, restoring Jerusalem and so many other countries occupied by the Crusaders back to Muslims. In AH 584 through the month of Ramadan he achieved great victories as he conquered Natartous, Gebla, Al-Lazikiyah, Sayhun, Bakas, and Ath-Thaghir, Ba`labak, Humah, Krak, As-Sour and many other lands.

He spent his life striving for the sake of Allah. He rejected his men’s suggestion to have recess in the month of Ramadan saying, “Man’s life span is short, death gives no appointment and leaving the occupiers in the Muslims’ lands for a single day more, despite the ability to drive them out, is an abominable act that I could not bear” and he proceeded with his conquests through this blessed month.
